The present invention relates to an interior trim part, in particular an armrest, for a motor vehicle, as well as a method for assembling / disassembling an interior trim part.
Armrests form a support surfaces in the side area for the driver, front passenger or vehicle occupants in a first, second or other row of seats and usually have a dimensionally stable carrier projecting into the vehicle interior with the inner lining of the vehicle side door, a foam layer disposed above and a final decorative layer facing the vehicle interior on. The determination of the cushion body having dimensionally stable support with the body part is carried out, for example, via fasteners such as screws. However, this attachment is quite time consuming and consuming.
From DE 102 18 004 B3 an armrest is known as an interior fitting for a motor vehicle, which consists of a decorative element formed as an outer element and a support member and a plurality of foam bodies. The aforementioned parts are all interconnected by a foaming process. The armrest thus produced is then attached to a central region of the inner lining of the vehicle door on Haltezap fen / holding projections and secured accordingly.
DE 31 07 760 C2 shows in one embodiment, an armrest having a cushion body, wherein the cushion body is inserted via fastening elements into corresponding receiving openings on a body part and held as a clip connection. Here, a simple and quick fixation of the cushion body to a support element is possible. The support member is formed as formed on the door inner panel element. However, the detachably arranged cushion body does not meet the necessary safety requirements for crash safety in a side crash.
There is therefore the problem on the one hand to obtain a simple detachable connection between the support structure and the shell body having shell element, on the other hand, this releasable connection meets the required conditions of the crash safety. Furthermore, the Innenausstattunsteil invention should have the lowest possible weight. 2/17 ············································ ··················

As already explained above, the invention relates to a Innenausstattunsteil 1, in particular an armrest which is fixedly connected to a fixed body-mounted element or a side door or the door inner lining of a motor vehicle. The side door of the motor vehicle usually consists of the outer side forming outer and an inner panel (bodyshell structure). This outside is completed by an interior trim element with a decorative surface facing the interior. The armrest 1 shown in the drawings is configured in two parts and essentially comprises a carrier element 2 (holding structure) which is covered with a three-dimensionally configured shell element 4 (armrest element) provided with a decoration 3. To achieve a good feel, the decor 3 of the shell element 4 is backfoamed. In order to be able to achieve replacement of the shell element 4, this is arranged detachably on the carrier element 2.
It is important that an accidental release of the armrest 1 is prevented in a collision of the motor vehicle, in particular a side impact. This is achieved by the arrangement of the carrier element 2 described below and the connection between the shell element 4 and the carrier element 2.
On the drawing sheet to the figures, a coordinate system is shown, wherein referred to the motor vehicle, the vehicle longitudinal direction with the x-direction, the vehicle transverse direction with the y-direction and the vehicle vertical axis (vertical axis) with the z-direction becomes.
The support member 2 for supporting and receiving the shell element 4 (Armauflageelementes) is shown in more detail in the figures 1-3 as a single part. As can be seen from the drawings, the carrier element 2 consists of a cup-shaped base element 5 which is of elongated design in the x-direction and has a peripherally formed edge section 6. The cup-shaped base element 5 has an end face 5a. 4/17 ···· 4 • · ♦ · ♦

The edge portion 6 is provided at regular intervals with holes 7 which define the welding points for connection to the door inner panel. In the assembled state, the carrier element 2 is flat over the edge portion 6 on the door element. Starting from the end face 5 a of the carrier element 2, the carrier element 2 has an inwardly pointing, cylindrically shaped cup-shaped element 7 with an end face 8. This end face 8 serves as a contact surface for a corresponding attachment point on the shell of the door. In the end face 8, a bore 9 is introduced, so that via a corresponding fastening element, a fixing of the support element 2 via this attachment point can be done with the shell or the inner door panel. Starting from the upper edge portion 6 are spaced apart in the x direction and in the y direction along the surface portion of the cup-shaped base member 5 extending two recesses 10 introduced. These recesses 10 form the attachment points 11a in the upper region of the carrier element 2 for releasable attachment to the shell element 4. Starting from the lower edge region 6, at least one recess 12 is centrally inserted into the cup-shaped plastic element as attachment point 11b for releasable attachment to the shell element 4. Furthermore, ribs 14 which are arranged in the y-direction and spaced apart from one another are integrally formed on the upward-pointing surface area of the cup-shaped base element 5. This rib structure forms defined support points for the plugged-in in the assembled state shell element 4. The support element 2 is made of a thermoplastic material, preferably from the group acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene / polycarbonate copolymer (ABS-PC). The plastic can be further reinforced by the addition of fibers such as glass fibers or natural fibers. The wall thickness of the carrier element is for example about 2.5 mm.
The carrier part 2 is completely covered by means of a dimensionally stable shell element 4 in the assembled state, wherein the shell element 4 is provided with a foam-backed decor 3. This creates a pleasant feel for the occupant. The shell element 4 has a running on its top surface 15 for the arm of the occupant. The configuration of the shell element 4 can be taken from the figures. The shell element 4 has a half-shell-shaped base body 16, which is adapted in terms of its inner contour of the outer contour of the cup-shaped base body of the support element. As will be described in more detail below, during assembly of the armrest 1, the shell element 4 is pushed onto the carrier element 2 and fixed detachably via fastening points 11a, 11b. 9/9 9999 99 9 9 99 99 99 9 9 99 9 9 9 9999

The detachable connection between carrier element 2 and shell element 4 is achieved by means of a clip connection. For this purpose, designed as locking lugs fixing points 17 are formed on the inside of the shell member 4. These locking lugs are arranged such that they engage in the recesses 10 described above or behind edges of the recesses 12 on the carrier element 2 latching. The shell element 4 is made of a thermoplastic, preferably from the group acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS). As the material for the plastic element spanning decor different interior trim elements usual decorative materials such as films, textile materials, leather can be used. The foam forming the intermediate layer is, for example, a polyurethane foam.
In a collision-induced deformation i. Application of force ensures that the detachable connection between shell element 4 and support element 2 is not released in the direction of the deformation force.
At the same time the connection between the shell element 4 and support element 2 is designed such that in a simple manner, a replacement of the shell element 4 without further aids quickly and safely possible. Furthermore, no attachment points of the carrier element or of the shell element are visible from the vehicle interior.
The assembly and disassembly of the armrest 1 is shown in the drawings 6a-c, 7a-d and will be explained briefly below. In a first step, during assembly of the armrest, the carrier element 2 is welded to the interior trim of the motor vehicle door via the attachment points 7 provided on the peripheral edge region 6. Furthermore, the carrier element 2 is screwed tightly over the contact surface 8 against the inner door panel. After assembly of the carrier element 2, as shown in the 3 steps in the drawings 6a-c, the shell element in the y direction on the base member 5 of the support member 2 is pushed. This is shown by the arrows. When attaching the shell member 4, a latching of the locking lugs 17 takes place at the corresponding fastening points / locking grooves 10,12 on the support element 2. From the drawings, it can be seen that a total of 3 attachment points 11a, 11b are provided between the carrier element 2 and shell element 4. These three attachment points lie on the corners of a triangle. In the assembled state of the armrest, the shell element 4 is supported on the rib structure of the carrier element 2. Arm support surface 15 (shown by arrow 20, 21 in Figure 7a) remains the connection between the support member and shell member in the mounted, verclipsten arrangement.
In the disassembly of the armrest 1 shown in the further drawings 7a-d is first by applying a force in the z-direction upwards on the Untersei-te te the surface of the shell element (arrow 22), the Verclipsung on the underside between the support element and Shell element in the region of the attachment point 11b solved. Subsequently, the shell element 4 can be pivoted upwards by approximately 15 degrees in the direction of the arrow via the two fastening points 11a which are arranged on the upper side and which define a pivot axis (arrow 23). In this rotated position of the shell-10 element 4 then a shift of the armrest in the vehicle longitudinal direction (arrow 24) is possible. As a result, the clip connection is achieved in the upper region between shell element 4 and support element 2. This shift is shown in the figure by the arrow. After releasing the clip connection, the shell element 4 can be displaced and disassembled in the y-direction (along the arrow 25). 7/17 November 22, 2012
